In our area in Germany we have this tradition where kids make their own laterns and knock at doors of houses. When you open up the door, they sing songs that go back to a story of St. Martin, a guy who helped the poor by sharing his clothes. Well, today the kids do not want clothes they are in for a sweet treat. This year, I wanted to make sure that, our house is being recognized as a special location…
Yesterday was the start into the Xmas season and I decorated my new wooden etagere for the first time. I was so proud to show this Winter-Wood-Forest-Leaves-Deco, that I was in a incredible good and happy mood the days before already! Everybody did ask: "Oh my god, are you not being stressed out completely with all this baking and stuff?". Well, no, I wanted to present all the new stuff and recipes, and I did! Tell me, How did you…
With a caramel-cover and some almonds around, this sunday is going to be great! Even if the temperature is now really getting cold in Germany (we had -3C degrees in the morning), the sun is shining, the leafs are falling down, it is pretty nice outside. For the first time this fall, I wore a wollen hat and my winterjacket when we went out for a walk this morning. If you want to make the apples yourself, just heat up…

There was the cherry pie(which is always great), the chocolate pie (a life safer and yes, it is rich, but also in taste) and of course the pumpkin pie (I saw the ripe pumpkin fields since weeks). I…
... and so does Silvia and Guido. When Silvia asked me, if I would be able to pop up our tearoom in her garden, a new idea was born and a couple of days later somewhere in Düsseldorf an afternoon tea party was held. I went there with a car fully packed with cakes and cookies, plates, cutlery, garden tables and chairs with cushions and so on...I wanted that all guests feel welcome and at home at the lovely surrounding…
We just did it! it is 7pm, the dish washer is running, the garden furniture is at the correct place again and we can sit relaxed in our deckchairs and thinking about a great day. We both agreed: We really enjoyed our first Pop-Up Tearoom and do believe that our guests liked it as well. We got to know some new nice people, everybody talked, it was a very relaxed atmosphere, you just had a nice sunday afternoon with great…
Next sunday we are hosting an Afternoon Tea at our house. I managed to create the menu, which will be placed under each plate. The challenge was, that the colours of the printed menu needed to match with napkins, mugs, plates, etc. If you love sweet treats and are wondering about the so-called "Vintage Summer Cake" I am thinking about a triple-decker sponge cake with berries, fruit syrup and cream - something you can enjoy all summer. We are still…
