When my husband took this photo of cookies in front of Grandma's Pie shop all his good new year´s resolutions were gone. He thought he could stay away from sweets in Jan 2013.

Doing a gingerbread house is not the newest idea of course, but I am doing it every year on christmas with great fun. Last Pop-Up Tearoom 2012
Today is the final afternoon tea before X-Mas. Everything is prepared and set up. It was so great to meet so many nice people, I am so inspired by all of you and overwhelmed by your cheerfulness. In our area in Germany we have this tradition where kids make their own laterns and knock at doors of houses. When you open up the door, they sing songs that go back to a story of St. Martin, a guy who helped the poor by sharing his clothes. Upgrade the traditional apple!
With a caramel-cover and some almonds around, this sunday is going to be great! Even if the temperature is now really getting cold in Germany (we had -3C degrees in the morning), the sun is shining, the leafs are falling down, it is pretty nice outside.
