This Valentine´s Day, I have my focus on two projects. First it´s all about getting the windows of the house ready for the special day. After I had removed all Christmas ornaments from the windows, they looked empty. The second thing I am working on is a Valentine's Day card, which I hope will be finished soon, so that I can give it to you as a downloadable greeting.
My husband makes us breakfast every morning. As he usually has to take something out of the kitchen cupboard, I thought it would be a good opportunity to show him a gentle reminder that Valentine´s Day is coming. Even if it´s still January, the day will come. For this "real life newsfeed", I used two hand made garlands. One is heart ribbon crochet and the other one I cut out of vintage paper.
This Sunday is all about getting ready for Valentine´s Day. For me, this means that I am trying out new cake recipes and I also bring up the decorations. For our neighbors this means, free Sunday afternoon cake delivered directly to their house. As I am a big fan of 'dry' coffee cakes, I tried this Cream Cheese Coffee Cake with Cinnamon Streusel. Yummy.
I know, the weekend where we take down the Christmas decoration will come eventually every year, but when it´s actually there this means a couple of thing. Worst of all, no denying, it means "Christmas is over". I wish it could have lasted longer, but that´s how it is. As we had an entire "no snow"-Christmas, I wanted to take a "Happy New Year" picture out in the sun. However, it was a little colder than I thought, so I quickly added a Pumpkin Spice latte to the scenario for a proper last day of Dec feeling. Happy New Year.
I have have spent the last two saturdays at the sewing machine. The idea was to make christmas stockings for a couple of friend's pets. I am convinced that every cute furry creature needs it`s own stocking where all the christmas gifts are stored. The challenge was, that the stocking matches the style of the owner.
