Animal friends gather around the porch to get final rays of the evening sun. Unfortunately the real animals we want to attract (red cat, you know we are talking about you) is not showing.
Staying there for one night, means in my calculation: Two times breakfast is possible! Well, that's what we did. The always friendly hubby was kind enough, not to ask questions, why we have to go especially to this place, etc etc and were just helpful to find it! The first morning we went by bus to the "Tina we salute you" cafe in Dalston. The food was great, (nice idea to poach the eggs with a plastic bag), nice staff,…
Going to london, meant in former times "going to topshop". Since 2 years or so, it got a new meaning: "Going to Anthropology". And that's what I did yesterday. why is it, that you always want to move in their store?!? how do they do this??? and why are they constantly so good with all that stuff for the kitchen, bathroom, etc.? I wanna buy everything and put it in the luggage to bring it home... it is just too…
Last time we went to our hometown Stuttgart, I visited the flea market with my friend. Well, the expectations were not so high, just a little look around here and there....I saw some old carpets and windows, hmm, they are too big for the car....the plates were not so nice and also the teapots were just old, nothing else. Many,many coffee machines and an old dirty waffle maker,....but finally my eye spotted this wonderful chandelier! Could this be the perfect…
Well, we all love colourful buntings. There are so many different ideas and you cannot only use nice fabrics, but allover printed paper as well. Today’s bunting idea for our porch was to use old handkerchiefs. The result is: supernice and quick to do project! The most difficult thing was to find enough of the vintage handkerchiefs in different dessins and colours (at the Diakonie Kaufhaus I found some and on Ebay of course). How many you will need? finally I had around 30 pieces available, thats why the front door got their own bunting as well….than iron it down diagonal. As a strap I used left over gift wrapping tape. Our porch and main door entrance looks fantastic. Hope you like it as well!?
Well, easter is gone. We went to Egmond aan Zee in Holland, like every year. Cute litte town, very relaxing. The weather was not really nice, so I can’t give you pretty beach pictures….but, on the way back to Germany we visited the Van Dijk & ko Warehouse in Amsterdam. This is always worth the trip. I took some pictures there so that you can imagine the varieties of this store. Please have a look to the new chairs and some small cupboards we took back home with us!
Finally the long planned vintage birthday party was today. The weather was even better that anyone could wish for. Everything today was perfect: food, decoration, guests and gifts. More detailed pictures from this afternoon and it`s activities and buffet will follow.
