Birthday Cake Buffet
I love birthdays, especially my own. But it always comes and goes too fast. It´s already been almost 2 weeks. Luckily, I still have pictures of the little buffet to „post“ from it. So it feels more like it was a 2 week event.
Strawberry Cheesecake
For last Sunday’s cake buffet (Pictures coming up this week, I promise), I wanted to do another Cheesecake variation. I love Cheesecake, so I tried one with Strawberries. Looking at it, it feels way more summer’ish than March. My only problem was that at first guests did not really dare to cut it with all those beautiful fruits on top.
The recipe is a variation of the New York Cheesecake that you can find in my German book „Backen mit Love“ (click on the pic to enlarge). For it´s beautiful colour, I just added 3 tablespoon of mashed strawberries to the filling and replaced the blueberry topping with sour cream and fresh strawberries. My original recipe below. Ginger is the new Porch Colour
In my persistent attempt to attract a certain ginger and „homeless“ cat to come to our house, I had a recent breakthrough. I found it sleeping, very relaxed on our front porch. However, it still has a strictly no touching policy and I can show you the marks on my hands to prove it. But I am working on it, someday it will happen, I know it.
Caramel Chocolate Cheesecake with Oreo Crust
Well, Caramel Chocolate Cheesecake with Oreo Crust. Do I need to say more ? I am trying new recipes and this will definitely make the short list. However, as it is Monday, you don´t really want to know what´s in there. The only good news about the bad weather is that low temperatures help with the layering of the caramel and the chocolate.
Birthday Drink
For my birthday, I wanted to create a special drink. Non alcoholic, I mean. So I tried this rhubarb juice with peaches and melon slices in it. Let´s skip the spring and directly start with the summer.
