Pumpkin Pie

Season Closing Outside Afternoon Teatime

Last Sunday, we ended the outside teatime season with a bang. I did some seasonal baking and an irresistible autumn decoration. One of our favorite cakes was the choc & caramel cheesecake with chocolate sauce on top! I also offered a warming autumn fruit crumbler with an almond cookie topping, yummieh!, and a delicious ginger cake with fudgy frosting – it really was the perfect september outside retreat!

Luckily I had a visit from my dear friend Rosey Sugar from Japan. She helped me with everything. If you have don´t know her and have not seen her cookie decorations. Please go to her website right now. She is an artist.

Setting Up the Decoration

This is the season of harvest and gorgeous shades of brown, rust, copper and green. I tried to brighten up the tables with some seasonal finds. You can easily transform an teatime table into „woodland wonderful“ with all those coloured leafs, lampion flowers, rose hips, wooden candle holders, pumpkins and so on.

Afternoon Tea Fall Setting

All the vintage plates and cutlery just made tea-time truly glorious and the granny extra proud! Great to look at was the pretty table runner, the cheeky knitted tea cosy and the tiered cake stands. It was a beautiful sunday with lovely people around – a feast for the senses.

Upgrade the traditional apple!

With a caramel-cover and some almonds around, this sunday is going to be great!
Even if the temperature is now really getting cold in Germany (we had -3C degrees in the morning), the sun is shining, the leafs are falling down, it is pretty nice outside.

Caramel Apple

For the first time this fall, I wore a wollen hat and my winterjacket when we went out for a walk this morning.

Caramel Apple

If you want to make the apples yourself, just heat up some caramels (like f.e. Werther’s Echte) in the microwave. Dip the apple in and immediately after coating each apple, dip them into the nuts of your choice. For a prettier presentation I used tree cuttings as sticks, they are even too nice to eat…(well, don’t believe that, haha…)

Fall in Our Garden

Pie Season Started

It was raining in the morning and it was cold outside – only like 8°C, Brrr…..the only thing to make the day shiny and bright for me was to walk in the kitchen and preheat the oven. let’s make some pretty pies!

Pie Season Started

There was the cherry pie(which is always great), the chocolate pie (a life safer and yes, it is rich, but also in taste) and of course the pumpkin pie (I saw the ripe pumpkin fields since weeks). I cannot say, which one I like the most, because I love them all! And of course I cannot eat them all up at once alone. So, if you around, come by and check out which one of them you like the most!
